Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against 38 victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
